The Transformative Power of Creativity Explored in Rick Rubin's Book, The Creative Act

Have you ever authored a piece, delivered a presentation, ideated a new product offering, created a piece of art, designed an experience, written a piece of music, I could go on… and the process from start to finish was almost ethereal? From idea to making it public this project just connected with your soul in such a way that was fluid, it lit you up, ignited a spark! There was an energetic charge about it!

𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗥𝘂𝗯𝗶𝗻’𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁: 𝗔 𝗪𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗕𝗘𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻.

The many lessons woven through the chapters of this book are incredibly applicable, whether in traditional arts, or in the ‘art’ of doing business, or in the ‘art’ of living life - the reader just needs to choose to notice them and apply them.

This was the perfect first book of my 2024, and I cannot recommend it enough. When creativity flows through our BEING in the world, possibilities expand - in any walk of life!

And if we are open to it, we are ALL artists!
