𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗲. 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗵𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲, 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁, 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.
And I’m pretty sure you’ve been going quite hard at the grind and you deserve that down time!
𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗼 (𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆) 𝗮𝘀 𝗜 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝗳𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗵𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲-𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱, 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀-𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 (𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲), I had a chat with a functional nurse who would impress upon me the value of tapping into my parasympathetic nervous system, every day. This is our system for rest and digest, in contrast to the fight and flight, sympathetic nervous system we know so well in this fast-paced life we lead!
𝗜 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲 and started to combine walks in nature (I have a lot of nature where I live), with a short, 10-minute daily meditation practice. At first, I wasn’t so great at slowing down the chatter in my head, but I was determined because I knew meditation could calm my stress going through one of the biggest challenges of my life. Before long - with consistency - it became a habit.
𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗜 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱. It awakened new creativity. It moved away the negative talk that really was just made up of self-developed storylines about who I was in the world. It made space for the mindset I needed to take on the challenge I was facing!
𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗜 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 ‘𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀’ 𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽. 𝗜𝗳 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱, 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁, 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱.
And so - as a part of a whole wellness plan in 2024 - one that enables you to move away the clutter that gets in the way of your living life to its fullest and showing up as your best self - 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗮𝗽 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗜𝗚𝗘𝗦𝗧 (𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰) 𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰?
𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡: Make a list of possibilities - even if you don’t yet know what will work for you. And if I can help you explore those and other ways to show up as your best self in the year ahead, reach out!
