๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ ๐˜†๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜€ ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ผ (๐—ฎ๐—น๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜†) ๐—ฎ๐˜€ ๐—œ ๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜€๐—น๐˜† ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ณ๐˜ ๐—บ๐˜† ๐—ป๐—ผ๐—ป-๐˜€๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฝ ๐—ต๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜๐—น๐—ฒ-๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—น๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฑ, ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€-๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ณ๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ธ๐—ฒ ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ฎ ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ ๐˜€๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ต๐˜ (๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—บ๐˜† ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ณ๐—ฒ), I had a chat with a functional nurse who would impress upon me the value of tapping into my parasympathetic nervous system, every day. This is our system for rest and digest, in contrast to the fight and flight, sympathetic nervous system we know so well in this fast-paced life we lead!


๐—œ ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ธ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐˜„๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐˜„๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—น๐—ฑ ๐˜„๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ธ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—บ๐—ฒ and started to combine walks in nature (I have a lot of nature where I live), with a short, 10-minute daily meditation practice. At first, I wasnโ€™t so great at slowing down the chatter in my head, but I was determined because I knew meditation could calm my stress going through one of the biggest challenges of my life. Before long - with consistency - it became a habit.


๐—”๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—œ ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—บ๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ฐ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฐ๐—น๐˜‚๐˜๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ถ๐—ป ๐—บ๐˜† ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ. It awakened new creativity. It moved away the negative talk that really was just made up of self-developed storylines about who I was in the world. It made space for the mindset I needed to take on the challenge I was facing!


๐—ก๐—ผ๐˜„ ๐—œ ๐˜€๐—ต๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—น๐—ฑ ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—œ ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ โ€˜๐˜„๐—ต๐—ผ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—น๐—น๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€โ€™ ๐—ฎ๐˜€ ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ฝ. ๐—œ๐—ณ ๐˜„๐—ฒ ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜ ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฐ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฑ, ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐˜† ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜, ๐—ถ๐˜ ๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐˜๐˜€ ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ถ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ.
